Meet the Families
-
The Atwal Family
The Atwal family was facing significant challenges in their current home in Henrico, Virginia, particularly as members of the sandwich generation. Their home did not adequately meet the needs of their disabled child, nor was it suitable for their aging parents who would soon be joining them.
-
The Smith Family
Mary Smith, her 14-year-old daughter, Emily, and her 10-year-old son, Jake faced a life-altering challenge when Jake was involved in a severe accident, resulting in physical disabilities that required him to use a wheelchair. As Jake grew, the limitations of their current home became increasingly apparent, making it difficult for him to navigate and fully participate in family activities.
-
The Armstrong Family
The Armstrong family is moving from Dallas, Texas to Richmond, Virginia! Their 25 year old son has autism and lives with them. Mom Regina has been caring for Chase as options were limited in Texas, and they had found a community of like-minded folks to do activities with. With no family in Richmond or the surrounding area, the Armstrongs knew they needed help connecting to resources and creating a space for their son to live, so they reached out to Your Home Haven.
